How do I obtain a Police Report if the police lobby window is not open or during non-business hours?
The general public can make an online request for a police report at reports@westville-nj.com. Provide your name, the date of the incident, and a copy of your driver’s license or proper identification. The police clerk will respond to your request within 5 to 7 business days. Please be aware that Patrol Officers are not permitted to give reports to the general public.

If I want to speak to a Police Officer or make a report and the police lobby window is not open, who should I contact?
Inside the Police lobby by the window is a phone. Please call the non-emergency number 856-456-0028 to tell the dispatcher you need to speak to a police officer.

How do I Sign a Complaint Against another Person
To sign a complaint, you need to first contact the Westville Court Office at 856-456-0066. (Be advised, Police Officers cannot sign citizen complaints.) If you need a statute number for the complaint, please use the Police lobby phone and call 856-456-0028 to advise the dispatcher that you need to speak with a Westville Police Officer in reference to signing a complaint.

Do Westville Police Officers wear Body Cameras
Yes, officers with the Westville Police Department are equipped with body-worn cameras, which are securely mounted on the front of their police vests. These cameras are an important part of the department’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and public trust.

Body cameras are used to document interactions between officers and the public, providing a clear and objective record of events. This footage can be valuable in investigations, court proceedings, and reviewing incidents to ensure policies and procedures are followed properly.

The use of body cameras is guided by department policies that outline when the cameras should be activated and how the footage is stored and managed. These policies are designed to protect the rights of both officers and civilians while promoting safety and professionalism during law enforcement operations.

If you have questions or would like more information about the Westville Police Department’s body camera program, you are encouraged to contact Chief Michael Packer directly.
